  • Aengus James

    FOUNDER + PRESIDENT

    Aengus is an entrepreneur and noted television + film producer. He co-founded This is Just a Test, a Los Angeles based media company, and has produced dozens of hours of television with approximately $100 million of content financed by some of the largest studios and broadcasters in the world. Aengus began owning, renovating, and self-managing multi-family real estate in 2010, identifying early gentrifying neighborhoods in LA and renovating buildings that were immediately coveted by young professionals. Aengus lives and works in Los Angeles since 2002.

  • Mirza Nagji

    CFO, COO

    Mirza is a financial services industry veteran, having worked for over 15 years at major investment banks including HSBC, Barclays, Santander, and Credit Agricole trading and selling corporate debt. He focuses on asset management and the financial side of the business, including budgeting, modeling, reporting, financing, and investor relations. He has been an active real estate owner, operator, and investor for the past decade. Mirza holds a degree in Mathema-tics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

  • Karla Flores

    PORTFOLIO MANAGER

    Karla is a licensed real estate agent. She is an LA native with roots in the neighborhoods that Homey operates in. Karla started her real estate career in high-risk property management in South Central LA for an operator who was experiencing a gang problem. Whether finalizing an exit with a legacy tenant or signing a lease with a young pro-fessional, Karla finds connection with people and truly embodies Homey’s culture. She is bilingual (Spanish, English), and she previously worked in special education for LA Unified School District.

  • John Trefry

    VP, GROWTH & STRATEGY

    John is an investor and strategist with a background in media, brand development, and real estate. With years of experience leading high-profile creative projects, he understands how to position opportunities for maximum impact. Transitioning into real estate investment, John has focused on scaling value-add multifamily assets, implementing operational efficiencies, and optimizing investment strategies. His expertise in business growth and investor engagement helps drive Homey’s expansion into new markets while delivering strong returns.
